New York, New York is a hell of a town, Bernstein assured us in On the Town, but when it comes to saving on hotels, you may find yourself using slightly more colorful language—and not in a good way. Hotel Week NYC the rescue! From January 4-14, 2019 (not technically a week, but just go with it) select New York City hotels offer significant reductions on their standard rack rate.

Designed to attract both local “staycation” business as well as out-of-towners during the post-holiday tourism slump, Hotel Week NYC is now in its eighth year and shows no sign of slowing down. In 2019, more than a dozen hotels are offering flat rates of $100 or $200 (note: more participants may still be added at $300 or $400/night) saving you well over $100/night in some cases.

The Hotel Week NYC website has all the details and allows you to filter hotels by price point or location. From there, you can book directly with the hotel, by either using the provided web code or by calling and mentioning “Hotel Week NYC” to receive the promotional rate.

Take some time to investigate the hotels on offer—some of the properties also have added perks thrown in to make your stay a little more comfortable. We like that an American or Japanese buffet breakfast is on offer at The Kitano Hotel, the $20 credit that can be put towards any of the amenities at the Archer New York, and the infinitely civilized pre-supper wine and cheese receptions held at the Library Hotel Collection properties.

We think the quieter crowds of mid-January make it the perfect time to explore and get to know the Big Apple, and the deals available during the Hotel Week NYC promotion help take a bite out of the cost. We’ll be booking our trip shortly.
